Anonymous asked: Do you have any regrets?
Yes and no. Everything that I’ve done “wrong” eventually leads to something “right.”
I used to regret having spent a number of years in a relationship with someone that was selfish and mean. I learned so much though- I learned once and for all you cannot hope for someone to change, no matter how sweet or good you are to them. No matter how many times you pick them up and take care of them, you may not ever have your kindness returned. It’s always worth it to be kind no matter what, but only for so long- without the hope that it will be reciprocated.
I still regret moving to live with a man I knew little about. (you never REALLY know someone until you move into their territory) I lost my cat, my cute house, 90% of my furniture, my savings and a great deal of my happiness. I returned home only to find more love for my family and friends, new and greater opportunities, and a greater appreciation of personal freedom. I also have much more respect for true gentlemen and love without demands.
So, I suppose it’s just how you use the things you learn in awful situations that turn things that were once regrets into a chance to do better.
So it goes.
